Reebok just announced that they’ve signed LSU basketball star Angel Reese to an Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) signing — the first NIL deal in the brand’s history.

Although we’re not sure what products will be announced just yet, this partnership is part of Reebok’s game plan to bounce back in the cultural scene from 2024 onwards, with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal leading the charge as the new president of Reebok Basketball and Allen Iverson serving as VP>

Reese, who’s known as the “Bayou Barbie,” is one of the most promising young basketball stars out there and currently the college athlete with the most NIL deals to date. When asked about the deal she says

“I am honored to be working closely with one of my longtime mentors, Shaq, along with a brand that I have admired since I was just a little kid,” shared Angel Reese. “It means the world to me that they trust in me to extend their legacy to a new generation. Together, I think we have a great opportunity to do things differently, to inspire people to explore and express themselves unapologetically, and to show them how to look and feel good while doing it.”

More details to come soon, but it’s safe to say that Reebok is officially back.
